Emma had seen a dress online with lantern style sleeves, and wanted this look for her dress,  together with a structured top and pencil skirt.

We used white silk dupion to provide the structure for the sleeves. The bodice was a corset style construction with boning and a zip fastening. The silk was folded and pleated over the underlying structure so she had the support she wanted with a light folded crossover on the front of the bodice.

The skirt initially had a very long train, which we later shortened to be more manageable. Finally, we added a simple veil of spotted tulle to offset the simplicity of the dress.
